my blogging break
As you guys can probably tell, I haven't written a post in a while. From April 22nd to the 27th I think I was in Boston on a school music trip. We met amazing people, saw amazing musicians, and had a great time.
My favourite part of the trip was getting to work with Benjamin Zander. Benjamin Zander is a world famous musician who conducts the Boston Philharmonic. Professional musicians from all over the world would do anything to work with him, and we did. He had a concert that night which we were going to. On concert days he has a strict routine which he NEVER breaks to get ready. He broke it for us to come in and give us a clinic. Being in the same room with him was extremely overwhelming, scary, and really exciting all at once. Everybody looked up at him with wide eyes listening to every word he said.
We saw amazing concerts. We went to see the NEC the second night. The NEC is the New England Conservatory. This band was full of talented young musicians who have great careers ahead of them. We saw the Boston Philharmonic too. I saw a lot of young people who were probably around 17 or 18. It's cool to think that such young people could be in such a great orchestra.
On this trip I learned so much from our clinicians. It was an amazing week, and I will never forget it.
If anybody was at the Sauce Rock-it show on April 26th how about posting pictures:)? Thanks!
