Jason's Need-to-Know Shows
WHERE: Burlington YMCA - 500 Drury Lane, Burlington
WHEN: Friday, November 3rd, 2006 @ 7:00
WHO: Arise & Ruin - Mor Terra - Versus Cole - Saturday Night Heroes
COST: $6.00 OR $5.00 w/ a canned good
This concert is worth attending. Arise & Ruin are known to put on a good show. They aren't a subtly heavy band, they will come out guitars swinging and double kicks pounding away. Nothing short of heavy they alone will let you leave the concert with your ears ringing. Add in Mor Terra and Versus Cole and you truly have a metal show. Mor Terra, with all members sporting long, greasy hair, always put on a show with their old-school/new-school-metal-inspired riffs accompanied by their synchronized hair swinging. Yes - synchronized hair swinging. It might be worth checking out this concert just to see Mor Terra swing their hair. If you are afraid of people bigger than you then stand to the sides or near the back because when Mor Terra plays they have their friends backing them up and swinging their hair with the band at the same time. It's a beautiful sight for metal lovers.
WHERE: The Underground - 41 Catharine Street North, Hamilton
WHEN: Saturday, November 4th, 2006 @ 9:00
WHO: Lucifuge - Versus Cole - Jojetto - Ripped
COST: Just pay at the door (tickets will be cheap)
So, if you didn't get enough of Versus Cole on Friday, then drive / walk / take a bus / take a taxi or bike over to 41 Catharine Street North and march yourself into The Underground to see them play again. Though I haven't seen the headlining band, Lucifuge, I do know that they have been around for a while and all the members have been bashing or strumming away at their instruments for a lot of years. From the pictures I have seen of Lucifuge they put out and give it all at their shows. If you're a mosher and hair swinger then pull on your ripped jeans and slip on your metal band shirt and get yourself down to the Underground.
Hope everyone has a good concert weekend,
Until next time,
Jason Matos
